Qualified expert activities of the Biology Centre CAS

Biology Centre CAS carries out qualified expert activities in the field of ecology, physiology, pathology, insect toxicology, biological basis of parasitism, spatial structure and dynamics of natural disease outbreaks, hydrobiology, especially of reservoirs, assessment of chemical, biological and microbiological parameters of water quality and forecast of water quality development and eutrophication in reservoirs and systems, evaluation of anthropogenic influences and pollution, evaluation of fish stocks in reservoirs.

The subject of other expert activities in the areas of scientific activities of the workplace and methodological activities in the field of industrial legal protection are scientific assessments, opinions, recommendations, elaboration of professional studies, conducting biological surveys and monitoring, testing, measurement, analysis, control, analysis and other analytical and diagnostic services and advisory and consulting activities, provided primarily for organizational units of the state or territorial self-governing units. The conditions of other activities are determined by the relevant business licenses and the Act on Public Research Institutions.

The Ministry of Justice issued on 2 December 2008 under file no. 277/2008-OD-Zn pursuant to Section 21 of Act No. 36/1967 Coll., On Experts and Interpreters and pursuant to Section 6 of Decree No. 37/1967 Coll., on the implementation of the Act on Experts and Interpreters, as amended, the fourth supplement and amendments to the list of institutes qualified for expert and interpreting activities published in Volume 2/2004 of the Central Gazette of the Czech Republic.

According to the provisions of §21 par. 3) The list of expert institutes is divided into two sections. The second section of the list of expert institutes includes universities or their components and public research institutions, or other persons governed by public law, or their organizational units performing scientific research activities in the relevant field. These institutes are designed primarily for the preparation of expert opinions in particularly difficult cases requiring special scientific assessment. The other sections of the list shall include the other expert institutes referred to in paragraph 1.

In this list, the selected institutes of the Biology Centre are listed in Section II for their field of competence and scope of expertise as follows:

Institute of Entomology

Field: Agriculture

Scope of expertise: ecology, physiology, pathology, toxicology of insects.

Institute of Hydrobiology

Fields: nature conservation, water management

Scope of expertise: hydrobiology, especially of reservoirs, assessment of chemical, biological and microbiological parameters of water quality and forecast of water quality and eutrophication in reservoirs and systems, evaluation of anthropogenic influences and pollution, evaluation of fish stocks in reservoirs.

Institute of Parasitology

Fields: healthcare, agriculture

Scope of expertise: biological nature of parasitism, spatial structure and dynamics of natural outbreaks.
